I came across a quote today that I think I was just meant to find. It was for me. Here it is:
"We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is
waiting for us. The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come."
--Joseph Campbell
I've been so focused on my lost plan, on the plans that didn't work out, on the life I tried to plot like a destination on a map, that I forgot to enjoy the present. I forgot how fun the ride can be when you don't know where you're going. I forgot that sometimes the detour is better than the path you were on to start with.
Today I was reminded that the life that is waiting on me is so much better than the life I had diagrammed and mapped out for myself. It's time to let go of the old and begin anew.
I've had an amazing Easter Sunday. I've enjoyed time with loved one and people who never fail to make me smile. I've been reminded of how amazing my life already is and how much more amazing it will become. I was embraced. I felt love. I laughed. I smiled. I am blissful today. I am blessed.
Things don't make you happy. Things can't make you happy. People do. People bring you joy and love and light. Surrounding yourself with that kind of pure bliss is what life should be about.
Happy Sunday to all of you! It really is a brand new day....
