Just Us Girls

These are my best friends.  Em's in the gray, Laura is the short one in the black shirt.  That's me--with the white sweater and glasses, and Amy is the chick with the giant.....smile.... wearing red (lol).

Our friendship spans sixteen years, two divorces, countless breakups and bad boys, cartons and cartons of ice cream (to make up for the bad boys), a swimming pool's worth of tears, Christmasas/Halloweens/Birthdays,  three college graduations, two births, a passel of kids, near death experiences, lots of loud laughter, and immeasurable amounts of love.

We're really lucky to have each other.

We're even luckier to be raising the next generation of girls--a generation I sincerely hope will grow up together and love one another as much as the four of us do.  Of course, there's also one boy in the mix--but I guess there has to be somebody for them to fight over  ;)  I'll write a post about him later, but this one...this one's for the girls.

These two are one year apart--fast friends and "best friends".  Amy and I tend to buy them the same clothes (never on purpose), and somehow we always end up dressing them in the same thing (again, never on purpose).

This is my Anna Banana Bear.  She's the lovely eldest girl of our little group of next gens, and she's really something else.  I know she gets bored of the little ones sometimes, but that doesn't stop her from playing with them anyway.  As of right now she isn't too big to sit happily on my lap and let me snuggle her, but I suspect she'll soon be "too old" for such indulgences.

These are our girls, the next generation.  Silly, smart, spunky, sassy, and so very loved.  Who knew these tiny little amazing creatures could so turn our lives upside down while at the same time making our lives perfectly right?  We are blessed indeed.
