Valentine's Day for Singles

It's Valentine's Day. You're single.  All those lovey-dovey couples make you want to puke.  You want to hunt Cupid down and wring his little neck.  You hate this holiday.  We've all been there.

But who said Valentine's Day is only for couples?  You don't have to spend the day bemoaning your single status or loathing anything with hearts on it.  You can have fun too, and having fun definitely beats sitting around and feeling bitter.

Here are some ideas to help you pamper yourself:

Plan a Relaxing Night In:  Turn on some relaxing music, light some candles, get a good book, and run yourself a bubble bath.  You know it sounds good....

Plan a Single's Night:  Call up your single friends and spend the holiday together.  Go out to eat, go to the movies (or rent movies), go to the arcade and play shoot 'em up games.  Get each other $5 gifts and play 'Secret Valentine' instead of Secret Santa.  It's fun. I promise.

Treat Yourself to Luxury: Whether it's buying something you really want but normally wouldn't buy or taking a trip to a spa--get yourself a gift.  Use this day as an excuse to pamper yourself.  If you can't afford a fancy spa, consider taking a trip to your local beauty school.  Pedicures, manicures, and facials are seriously discounted and students tend to be really attentive to their customers.  Gift yourself.  You'll say 'thank you.'

Indulge in Sweetness:  Make yourself your favorite dessert and eat it while watching your favorite movie.  I like brownies with ice cream.  Yum.

Feel Sexy:  Ladies take out your wallets and head to your local lingerie shop.  Treat yourself to a sexy pair of bra and panties.  Feelin' sexy yet? You should be. Rock it girl!

Get Out: side--Get outside.  Go jogging. Go hiking. Go the the park. Take the dog on a walk. Go on a bike ride. Get outside.  Enjoy the sunshiny weather.  Not sunshiny?  Get out of the house. Go to the mall. Go to your favorite store. Go to the coffee house. Go to the movies. Go anywhere.

Get Physical:  Exercise.  Sweat. I recommend Zumba.  Swing those hips!

Do Whatever You Want:  Within reason, of course.  Use Valentine's Day as an excuse to do whatever you want.  No holds barred.  Enjoy yourself.
