Day 7: Most Underrated Book

I'm taking part of the 30 Day Book Challenge.  Click the link to do it too (and add your blog to my meme)!

Most underrated book....this is a tough one.  I'm not sure what to choose.  There are lots of books I love that never made the bestseller list.  There are lots of books I love that did make that list, but have been long forgotten.  I think I'm going to have to choose two.

Fiction:
Most of my friends have never read Karen White's The House on Tradd Street.  It's an excellent read and I think everyone should go buy a copy now.  It's about Melanie Middleton, a real estate agent who loathes old houses and loves modern amenities.  When Melanie inherits a crumbling mansion on Tradd Street her best friend ropes her into restoring it.  Unfortunately the house is haunted by a menacing spirit and Melanie has psychic abilities she has spent her entire life trying to suppress.  You know you wanna read it!

Nonfiction:

Barbara Sjoholm proves that non fiction doesn't have to be a yawn fest in her book The Pirate Queen:  In Search of Grace O'Malley and Other Legendary Women of the Sea.  Grainne O'Malley (anglicized to Grace) is one of my favorite historic figures of all time.  She is also one of the least known.  Barbara Sjoholm brings Ireland's famed female pirate to life in this book, and I highly recommend it.

What are some books you think are underrated?
