I am a list maker. I have lists for everything imaginable. Sometimes I jot down quick, simple lists. Other times I make elaborate lists--using different colored ink and highlighters. Lots of people make lists. I'm not alone in this OCD habit. But not everyone actually crosses off their lists as they accomplish their goals. I am list crosser-offer. I cross it off if I've done it. I like the way it feels to mark a line through a task I've set for myself. So here are a few of my current lists:
School Stuff:
Begin research on thesis
Come up with thesis project
schedule advising
pay bill
go to library
print articles
register for classes
House Stuff:
laundry--towels
laundry--delicates
laundry--colors
grocery shopping
get another bookshelf
put bookshelf together
get clear shoe boxes for closet
start getting rid of clothes we don't wear
dust furniture
sweep/mop
Miscellaneous:
edit 50 pages
write article for academic journal
finish book review
contact UWF about Hist. Arch. program
make a list of agents to query
make a spreadsheet to track agent queries (later--clearly I'm not there yet)
As you can see, I've clearly got a lot left to do this week. I'll get to it. Eventually...
There is nothing wrong with lists, lists and more lists! I have a few hundred myself!!!
