No one told me being a mom was going to be easy, but no one told me I was going to have so many balls to juggle either. I've had so many scheduling conflicts since becoming a (step) mom. I had no idea scheduling conflicts were par for the course. Am I dummy, or what?
I signed up for the Hit the Brixx 5K a few months ago. I also signed the tot up for dance classes. The dance class and the 5k are at the same time/day. I thought I's mom was going to take her every other week, but since I's mommy went last week she refuses to go this week too. Apparently that's not convenient. So now I have to forgo my 5k so I can go to her dance class.
I really wanted to run this 5k. I started running because I have congestive heart failure and it was part of my doctor's "save your life" plan. Literally. Running saved my life. Hit the Brixx was the first 5k I ever ran, and I've come a long way in a year so running the 5k this year was a big milestone for me. It was a way for me to say "In your face congestive heart failure!" I wanted to celebrate that I've been running for a year (well jogging at least). It was kind of a big deal to me.
I haven't even had time to pick up my race packet.
And now I can't go at all. But I guess this is part for the course, huh?
Can the dad or a grandparent cover the dance class? Eeek!
ReplyDeleteI think Kenny could do it, but the problem is one of the cars is in the shop right now so we only have one car until next week. :( So of course this means I have to be the responsible, good mom, and give up my event so I can go to dance. I'm thinking of asking my friends if any of them can come get me and take me to the race lol. Is that awful?
ReplyDeleteNot at all. That is exactly what I would do and exactly what friends are for.
