Life and Love

I have been absent from the blog for quite a while. I was entrenched in my final semester of graduate school, and could not find time to write blog posts.

I am happy to report I have completed my M.A. in History.  I am done!  I graduated!  Due to pressing medical issues, I was unable to walk--but I still finished, and that's pretty phenomenal.

Yesterday I went to Duke Medical Center to see a specialist.  After 30 years of seeing doctor after doctor, I finally have a diagnosis.  It isn't the best news, but I suppose it could always be worse.  I will write more about that later.

Right now I don't have time to explain my complex medical diagnosis.  I am having surgery this morning.  So before I get knocked out to be cut on, I'd just like to write a few words for my friends and family.

Life is short.  You must live it to the fullest.  Be happy. No, screw that. Happy isn't good enough. Be JOYOUS! Be ELATED! LAUGH--loudly and often. DANCE whenever the hell you want to!  Try to make wise choices, but don't beat yourself up over mistakes.  Most of all--love each other. Love each other with every breath.  And love yourself--learn to love yourself as much as you love everybody else because you are amazing.

And to my babies and my husband--I love you.  I love you with each breath I take. I love you higher than the moon and deeper than the seas. I love you immeasurably.  You make my life better just by being in it.  There just aren't enough words in the English language to ever explain how very much I love you.  I will see you when I wake up.
